تارنمای جرس در گزارشی خبری پیرامون خطبه‌های نماز جمعه تهران و دیگر شهرهای ایران نوشت: “ظاهرا بحث درباره وقوع زلزله در تهران تمامی ندارد و امامان جمعه پایتخت ترجیح می‌دهند که همچنان بخشی از خطبه‌های خود را به احتمال وقوع زلزله اختصاص دهند. امامان جمعه در دو هفته گذشته با تایید تلویحی ادعای محمود احمدی‌نژاد مبنی بر حتمی بودن زلزله تهران، زیاد شدن گناهانی مانند زنا و بدحجابی را از عوامل زلزله عنوان کرده بودند.
احمد جنتی امام جمعه موقت تهران در خطبه‌های این هفته نماز جمعه گفت: “با توسل، عبادت، خیرات و توبه می‌توان جلوی زلزله را گرفت و خواندن آیه ۴۱ سوره فاطر هم برای مصونیت از زلزله موثر است”.
وی افزود: “پیشگویی زلزله هیچ قطعیتی ندارد و هیچکس نمی‌تواند به طور قطع آن را پیش‌بینی کند؛ اما در مواردی که بناست زلزله‌ای ایجاد شود، کسی که پیشگویی می‌کند باید اهل دل باشد و با جایی دیگر رابطه داشته باشد که البته در همین جا هم قابل پیشگیری است. البته پیشگیری معنوی و الهی و نه فیزیکی”.
خطیب جمعه تهران در بخشی دیگر از خطبه خود به برگزاری کنفرانس خلع سلاح هسته‌ای در ایران اشاره کرد و این کنفرانس را به دلیل حضور ۳۰۰ خبرنگار خارجی موفقیت‌آمیز خواند.
او گفت: “این اجلاس تصویب‌نامه‌ای نداشت ، اما همه قبول کردند که اجلاس موفقی بوده و باید ادامه پیدا کند”.
جرس در این زمینه نوشت: “ادعای خطیب جمعه تهران درباره موفقیت کنفرانس خلع سلاح تهران در شرایطی بیان می‌شود که بسیاری از محافل دیپلماتیک این اجلاس را به دلیل عدم حضور قدرت‌های جهانی فاقد دستاوردهای عملی خوانده‌اند”.
حمید رسایی، نماینده اصول‌گرای مجلس می‌گوید که میرحسین موسوی و مهدی کروبی، دو نامزد معترض به نتایج دهمین انتخابات ریاست جمهوری اجازه خروج از ایران را ندارند.
به گزارش خبرگزاری فارس وی گفت: «به آقای خاتمی اعلام شده از کشور خارج نشود و برنامه برای خارج شدن نداشته باشد که پذیرفته است؛ زیرا به او گفته‌اند اگر بخواهی از کشور خارج شوی به صورت رسمی اعلام می‌کنیم و این امر برای آقایان کروبی و موسوی نیز وجود دارد».
این نماینده مجلس که در جلسه پرسش و پاسخ دانش‌آموختگان پیرو خط رهبری گیلان سخن می‌گفت، هدف این سه چهره شاخص مخالف دولت را برای خروج از ایران استفاده از تریبون‌های بین‌المللی برای «زنده نگه‌داشتن جریان فتنه» دانست.
هفته گذشته از خروج محمد خاتمی، رئیس جمهوری پیشین ایران برای شرکت در یک نشست بین‌المللی در ژاپن جلوگیری شد.
به گفته عضو کمیسیون فرهنگی مجلس: «پرونده موسوی در حال بررسی بوده و قطعا با وی برخورد می‌شود و برای همین ممنوع‌الخروج است.»
وی در رابطه با پرونده مهدی هاشمی، فرزند اکبر هاشمی رفسنجانی گفت: «آقای هاشمی خود را به سرنوشت مهدی هاشمی پیوند می‌زند و اطرافیان نیز فضا را طوری درست کرده‌اند که برخورد با مهدی هاشمی، مقابله با هاشمی رفسنجانی است. شما شاهد هستید که شخصیت‌هایی که بین انقلاب و فرزندان خود، فرزندانشان را انتخاب می‌کنند علی‌رغم ۳۰ سال خدمات وقتی در راهپیمایی‌ها حاضر می‌شوند چهار حلقه حفاظتی از آنها مراقبت می‌کنند و اطرافشان خالی است.»
مهدی کوچکزاده، یکی دیگر از نمایندگان حامی دولت نیز روز گذشته، پنج‌شنبه گفت: «کم کم تمامی سران فتنه نیز دستگیر می‌شوند و دو سه نفر باقی‌مانده هم، در زمان مناسب خود از سوی قوه قضائیه بازداشت خواهند شد.»
این نماینده مجلس افزود: «در حال حاضر نهضت سبز و امکانات کشور فرصت رسیدگی به این مسائل را نمی‌دهد و هر روز نهضتی برای خود راه می‌اندازد که نتیجه آن شده‌است که دختر سی ساله و پسر چهل ساله نمی‌تواند ازدواج کند.»
وی از شرکت‌کنندگان در این نشست خواست که برای نابودی «جریان اصلاحات» هر شب دعا کنند.
Coordinating Council of Iranian Teacher Trade Associations has issued a statement announcing that a group of its members will go on a hunger strike to protest against "illegal execution and imprisonment sentences" handed to a number of teachers. The statement says that the executive members of the Teachers Association and a number of associated labour activists will start a hunger strike on May 2 and called on all Iranian teachers to join them on National Teacher's Day, May 2.
The Council of Iranian Teacher Trade Associations calls for the "immediate and unconditional release" of all teachers from prison and a withdrawal of all legal and official action against "critical educators." The signatories ask better provisions for public schools through oil and gas revenues. They also request avoidance of all partiality and political manoeuvring in developing school curricula. They demand an end to the "security atmosphere" in the Ministry of Education and job security for teachers. The teachers also call for an end to "promoting spies" in classrooms and schools as well as stopping all forms of persecution of "critical" educators.
The statement contends that teachers who join a demonstration or a gathering or represent their ideas in the areas of education or the difficulties of their profession are "persecuted beyond the law and their voice does not reach anywhere." The letter refers to Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's statement describing Iran as the "freest country in the world" and questions the issuance of heavy sentences such as "execution, imprisonment, exile, forced retirement, demotion and suspension" for "caring and honest teachers of the country."
The announcement names imprisoned teachers such as Badaghi, Khastar, Davari and Momeni among the many teachers who have been sentenced to long term imprisonments which has also led to the "loss of livelihood for their families." They also speak out against the execution sentences handed to two other teachers, Kamangar and Ghanbari, claiming such rulings are "not befitting of the Islamic Republic."

Diplomats say Iran has dropped its bid for a seat on the UN Human Rights Council. Javed Faizal, a member of Maldives’ U.N. Mission, said Friday that Iran announced its decision at a meeting of the Asia group, which was preparing its slate of candidates for next month’s vote on new rights council members.
Iran was heavily criticized in February at the 47-member council’s first review over its handling of human rights. Peggy Hicks, global advocacy director for Human Rights Watch, praised Iran’s decision to withdraw as a “good thing.” The Iranian mission did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
This week, 12 prominent Iranian human rights activists had written an open letter declaring that “the election of Iran to the Human Rights Council would seriously jeopardize the legitimacy of the Human Rights Council, and undermine the efforts of Iranian human rights defenders. It would belittle the sacrifices of those who have given their lives for the cause of human rights.”

Hamid Rasai, conservative Member of Parliament, announced that Iranian opposition leaders Mehdi Karroubi and Mir-Hossein Mousavi are not allowed to leave the country. Last week already, former president Khatami's was banned from traveling to Japan to attend an international conference.
Yesterday, Iran’s Minister of Intelligence denied the existence of any official travel restrictions for Mohammad Khatami. Fars news agency reports that Hamid Rasai said: "Mr. Khatami was told he cannot leave the country and cannot make any preparations, and he has accepted that. He has been told that if he tries to leave the country, it will be officially announced that he is under a travel ban. And this also applies for Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi."
The hardline MP maintained that the sole aim of the three opposition figures in leaving the country would be to use international platforms to "keep the seditious movement alive." Rasai added: "Mousavi's file is under investigation and he will certainly be prosecuted, which is why he is restricted from travelling abroad."
In connection with the file of Mehdi Hashemi, son of Ayatollah Rafsanjani, Rasai said: "Ayatollah Hashemi is entangling himself in the fate of Mehdi Hashemi and the people around them are presenting the situation in such a way that confronting Mehdi Hashemi means a confrontation with Ayatollah Rafsanjani." In the post-election events, the establishment has made charges against Mehdi Hashemi, who is currently in the UK. Ayatollah Rafsanjani has aligned himself with the opponents of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad in the post-election events.
Another conservative MP, Mehdi Kochakzadeh, announced yesterday: "Gradually all the leaders of the sedition will be arrested and the two or three remaining ones will also be arrested by the judiciary in good time."
In the past ten months, Islamic Republic hardliners have repeatedly called for the arrest of Mir-Hossein Mousavi and Mehdi Karroubi, who have disputed the legitimacy of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's victory in the presidential elections of June.
